As an Endodontic Patient, What Should I Expect?

We encourage you to complete your patient registration and medical history online before arriving for your first appointment. If you prefer completing the registration at our office, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.

We start every appointment with a complete exam, when we will take one or more digital x-rays for diagnostic purposes. The exam will also consist of diagnostic testing of the teeth to determine their health and what, if any, treatment is indicated.

Your diagnosis, recommended treatment, and all options and obligations will be thoroughly discussed. Radiographs and any intra-oral photographs will be reviewed so that all your questions can be answered and you will know what to expect. We like to take extra time to discuss treatment before starting any procedures and make sure you know exactly what to expect. Treatment may be initiated the same day as the consultation if the appropriate time is scheduled. This is especially encouraged in situations where you have a tooth ache or tooth infection.

Between registration, examination and treatment, appointments usually last between an hour and a half and two hours. If the case presents unique challenges, is a re-treatment, or you have an active infection, you can expect the case to be completed in two separate visits usually spaced around two to three weeks apart. This is for your comfort during a potentially longer treatment time and to facilitate the placement of medications within the tooth.

Most questions can be answered at the initial appointment or by reviewing the rest of the content within this website. If you still have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 425 614-3636.
